Breast Reduction

Elimination of numerous years of back pain is one of the biggest benefits of breast reduction surgery. Other benefits include removing restrictions or difficulty with activities like sports and exercise, better posture, which can result in better circulation, and increased confidence. We make you look great and feel great with your new size. Be your best self with breast reduction surgery. If this is an option you would consider, we would be glad to schedule a consultation.

Breast Augmentation

The benefits of breast augmentation include creating a more balanced figure, updating to a more youthful appearance, additional clothing and swimsuit options, improving the shape of your breasts, reversing a perceived “deflated” look after pregnancy, correcting asymmetry, and boosting confidence.

Mentor LogoIn addition, many women find that after the surgery they gain motivation to keep in shape and make healthy lifestyle choices. Christiana Cosmetic Surgery Consultants proudly use Mentor® brand saline and silicone gel implants to assure the highest quality results. Contact us to discuss your surgical options and what would be the right decision for you.

Breast Reconstruction

Renew your self-confidence with breast reconstruction surgery. It is most often performed after a mastectomy or lumpectomy with a goal of restoring one or both breasts to near normal shape, appearance, symmetry and size. In the final stage of breast reconstruction, the nipple and areola may be re-created on the reconstructed breast, if it was not preserved during the mastectomy. Sometimes breast reconstruction surgery includes surgery on the contralateral breast so that the two breasts will match in size and shape.

Our surgeons have a great deal of experience in breast reconstruction surgery and in helping you find the best options. Whether you are recovering from breast cancer or have a congenital deformity, we can provide services to look and feel like your best self.

Mastopexy (Breast Lift)

Aging, pregnancy, nursing, weight gain or loss, gravity, and heredity can take a toll on the shape of your breasts. A breast lift addresses sagging and uneven breasts, drooping nipples, or decreased breast volume to recreate a more youthful shape and lift to your breasts.

The procedure includes raising the nipple to provide a breast shape where the nipple is situated forward-facing over the most projecting aspect of the breast. The surgery involves removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour.

Mastopexy with Implant

Often patients may choose to have implants placed along with the breast lift procedure to add more volume, size and shape. If you are unhappy with the overall volume of your breasts you may choose to have an implant placed at the time of mastopexy surgery to achieve your desired volume.

Liposuction

Areas of excess fat that have accumulated on the abdomen, thighs, or other areas on your body can be frustrating or occasionally impossible to eliminate through diet and exercise. Liposuction is useful in removing love handles, belly fat, and back rolls, as well as fat deposits in smaller areas like the chin and neck. It is a safe proven surgical procedure performed to create aesthetically pleasing body contours and can target isolated fat deposits.

Abdominoplasty (aka ‘Tummy Tuck’)

Traditional Abdominoplasty is often the most effective way to remove excess skin following significant weight loss, as well as correcting separated muscles post pregnancy. The result is a flat and smooth appearance with a scar that is hidden by undergarments. Liposuction is often performed as a part of this procedure, to maximize results.

If you desire only the removal of excessive abdominal skin without the muscle tightening, we also offer cutaneous abdominoplasty. This option is often recommended for younger patients with relatively intact muscle tone who are only interested in tightening the skin.

In massive weight loss cases (with or without bariatric surgery), insurance may approve this service as "medically necessary" after a prior authorization request is submitted. In order to receive that prior authorization, minimum criteria MUST be met. The link below lists the criteria. This is not an all-inclusive list, as certain insurance payers have additional criteria. If the attached criteria is not met, the procedure will be scheduled as self-pay cosmetically. Please refer to your specific insurance policy provisions for more coverage information on this procedure as well as any out-of-pocket expenses due to applicable deductibles and/or copays."

Abdominoplasty Criteria

Facelift / Necklift

When you are ready to change a tired appearance and reinvigorate yourself with a fresh look when you look at yourself in the mirror, a facelift may be what you are looking for. Ideally, a facelift is not meant to change your facial character, but to simply turn back the clock so you look and feel younger.

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the face and neck, such as:

  • Relaxation of the skin (sagging)
  • Fat that has fallen or disappeared
  • Deepening of the fold lines (between nose & mouth)
  • Jowls (in the cheeks & jaw)

The loss of youthful contours in the face can be due to variety of factors, including sun damage, loss of facial fat, thinning of the skin, gravity, smoking, as well as heredity and stress.

Blepharoplasty (Upper and Lower Eyelids)

Blepharoplasty can help reduce bags or dark circles under the eyes, enhance your eye shape, provide an expanded line of sight for improved vision, reduce fine lines on outer corners & lower eyelids, as well as giving you a more youthful and rested appearance.

Blepharoplasty procedure can correct defects, deformities, and disfigurations of the eyelids and improve the aesthetic of the eye region of your face. As you age, the eyelids stretch, and as a result, excess fat may form above, and below the eyelids. Skin around the eyes tends to be very delicate, thus signs of aging tend to show up early.

If you’re coming in to discuss another procedure like a facelift or neck lift, ask us about adding blepharoplasty to your procedure. When you pair treatments you can often recover from both at the same time and rejuvenating your eyes can enhance the results the other procedure.

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)

An arm lift procedure may be right for you if the underside of your upper arms sag, appear loose or full due to excess skin and fat. Fluctuations in weight, aging and/or heredity can cause your upper arms to droop or sag. This is a condition that cannot be corrected through exercise.

When exercise has reached its limit, surgery is an option, a brachioplasty removes excess skin and fat deposits.

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that will:

  • Reduce sagging or drooping skin
  • Tighten and smooth the underlying support tissue
  • Reduce localized pockets of fat in the upper arm

The process will create upper arms with greater tone, can offer you more clothing options and, as with many of our procedures, give you a renewed self-confidence.

Thighplasty (Thigh Lift)

A thighplasty procedure or thigh lift involves the removal excess skin, fat, and tissue to tone and refine the upper legs, and is an excellent way to achieve firm, toned, and more attractive upper legs.

Thighs are a problematic zone of unwanted fat accumulation for many people. Even for those individuals who have lost a lot of weight, the thighs may have retained much of the skin and pockets of excess fat.

Exercise routines cannot target specific areas of fat. Thighplasty is a fully customizable procedure. If you are looking to target fat pockets, tissue, excess skin, or just looking for minor or major changes, we work together to help you become happier and more confident.

In massive weight loss cases (with or without bariatric surgery), insurance may approve this service as "medically necessary" after a prior authorization request is submitted, although it is rare. In order to receive that prior authorization, minimum criteria MUST be met. The link below lists the criteria. This is not an all-inclusive list, as certain insurance payers have additional criteria. If the attached criteria is not met, the procedure will be scheduled as self-pay cosmetically. Please refer to your specific insurance policy provisions for more coverage information on this procedure as well as any out-of-pocket expenses due to applicable deductibles and/or copays.

Skin Removal Criteria

Nasal Surgery: Rhinoplasty / Septoplasty

Rhinoplasty can be combined with a septoplasty procedure to repair a deviated septum or performed separately for a variety of reasons. If you wish your nose to be smaller or larger, to smooth out a hump in the nose, to make it less crooked, or to restore your nose to its original state after a bad injury or broken nose.

Lesion Removal

Skin lesions that include warts, moles, skin tags, cancerous growths, or almost any abnormal growth on the skin can be removed for either medical or cosmetic reasons (or both).

The particular technique for removing your lesion will depend on such factors as the seriousness of the lesion, its location, among other factors. We welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can work together to excise lesions with minimal scarring.

Scar Revisions and Keloid Removal

If you are tired of looking at that scar or keloid from past trauma, surgery, vaccinations, body piercing, acne, blistering or any other reason, our doctors use advanced aesthetic and reconstructive techniques to improve the appearance of your scar or to reduce its size.

When a keloid is associated with a skin incision or injury, the keloid scar tissue continues to grow for a time after the original wound has closed, becoming larger and more visible until it reaches a final size. Our doctors are able to remove excess scar tissue, reconstructing the surrounding skin and other soft tissues, and minimizing scarring after your procedure.

Gender Reassignment Surgery

For patients who suffer from gender dysphoria, we offer breast surgeries to aid in the transition. For male-to-female patients, we offer breast augmentation, and for female-to-male patients we offer simple mastectomies. Often times these are considered medically necessary procedures when the patient satisfies the criteria. If you are interested in pursuing this surgery, contact us to schedule a consultation with any one of our doctors.

Earwell System for Newborns - (Dr. MacRae only)

This procedure offers hope to many parents of children who are born with ear deformities. When therapy is started before the age of 3 weeks (ideally at age 7-10 days), ear molding can completely correct deformities such as prominent ears (sticking out), lop ears, and Stahl’s (“elf”) ear deformities. The process reshapes the cartilage of the deformed ear into the desired curvature of a normal ear. Molding therapy is completely non-invasive, non-painful, and involves no needles, surgery, or sedation.
